Wedding in a marquee
The couple getting married here followed the increasingly popular practice of having a small civil wedding ceremony followed by a beautiful and personalised marquee blessing. One half of the couple celebrating here was Jewish and you can see the very pretty chuppah - the canopy under which a Jewish couple stand during their wedding ceremony - just beyond the couple in the second photo.
The other interesting feature here is the exotic Vietnamese hanging lanterns sprinkled liberally over the ceiling of the marquee where the wedding reception took place later.
These were wired up individually to light up, which is unusual for paper lanterns as the wiring up process is so painstaking. Luckily, the groom was in the theatre industry and was able to undertake the job. It took him a full day!
